Max Nolan is a sixteen-year-old multi-instrumentalist, ensemble leader, and active performer whose life revolves around music. A stand-out young musician in the Central New York scene, Max has been selected for both the NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band on trumpet and the NYSSMA All-State Mixed Choir as a bass voice. His versatile musicianship frequently takes the stage at All-County music festivals, where he performs across classical trumpet, jazz trumpet, baritone voice, and jazz guitar. Recognized regionally for his musicianship, Max was featured on Carrie Lazarus’s Extraordinary Talent and named a winner of the NYS Bluesfest's KJ James Memorial Blues Scholarship.
Whether he is leading the West Genesee Marching Band as Drum Major, performing with the Wind Ensemble, Symphony, Brass Sextet, or Drumline, or playing trumpet with The Underwater Bosses, Max brings a deep depth of performance experience to every musical setting. He also serves as the lead frontman and guitarist for his rock band, Poor Judgement, performing regularly at local venues. As an instructor, Max leverages his extensive background across classical, jazz, blues, and rock to offer dynamic, well-rounded lessons—helping students build rock-solid technique, prep for auditions, and find their own musical confidence and voice; all while having a ton of fun!
